Get a mild antidepressant SSRI prescribed to you (unless you have some condition like bipolar disorder that would be a contraindication).
Shrink, but also a primary care physician can do that. Prozac will work fine, for first few months.
It will help you lose some weight, too.
This is an useful, but a temporary fix - it will not solve your problems, It could make you stronger for a while, to give you energy to deal with the personal mess. Will help you getting outdoor, too. It will probably slowly decrease in being usefull after while, and you should get better on your own by that time.
Stop drinking, even in modest social amounts, cut on milk fat(like cheese), get out, hung with friends, kill the TV. Sitting at home and feeling worthless will get you nowhere. Organize your time in advance, on Tuesday start planning for Friday night and the weekend.
If you have backlog of urgent unpleasant stuff that you procrastinate upon, get it done, quickly. (The more you postpone it, the worse it will get eventualy, and all the time it will make you feel horrible!) Wash the dishes, vacuum your place to improve your home life quality. Dress up nicely, get out, get some fun. Don't be alone.
Get into company of smart peole. Try bookclub or something, but do the dancing as well.
Write a diary of everythingh you were doing and read it every evening & think if you used your day as much as you could.
Also, there is a good nice book by Dalailama (he is on the cover) co-writen with some Arizona shrink titled something like "Happines: A handbook for living". It is fairly interesting, motivating and easy read.
Don't even try speed, X-tasy or pot. Not good in your situation. Bike is not such a bad way of transportation, (unless you live in San Francisco :-) Start swimming, or something you enjoy, regularily.
Good luck, from a fellow psycho. Get busy, quick!
