Being a poster on the Orwell site - then yes I liked Animal farm.
IMHO I'd say it's one of the 20th century's most important works of fiction, and is as relevant when it was first published as it is today. Like any good literature it not only examines political and social issues of the day, but also deals with universal human concerns. Orwell does a great job of showing the reader how politics, language and humanity can be corrupted and debased...
Small book, lot's of "big ideas" in it. Also, unlike allot of other so called modern classics its very readable (ever tried James Joyce - inaccessible!).
