Yes, first designate the heroes of each text (Winston was the hero in 1984 and I have yet to read B.N.W. Big Brother was the anti-hero).
After you determine the heroes of the text, compare the way they are characterized in the novel with the anti-heroes or antagonists(consider diction used by the characters, the point-of-view the novels are told from, and overall tone of the novel).
After comparing, then contrast the ways the heroes and anti-heroes are characterized.
After observing these details of the story, you can come up with your own subjective conclusions. These conclusions can be summed up with a thesis.
I'd recommend checking out a book called "Writer's Inc."
Also, I recommend to read scholarly journal articles about 1984 and Brave New World that are available at the library. If you're a University student, the University library is ideal for this research; if not, a public library will serve better than a high school library. These refrences will help you grasp key ideas about the texts and will assist you in your argument(thesis).
