Max you got a little stirred up over it all huh? anyway, i believe that our government is capable of many of the things in the book, but in some ways it is impossible (in my opinion, especially at this time).....making people disappear...sure, easy enough, but convincing the people that they never existed, with maybe a couple of people...ok, but never convincing us of this when we worked with them, or when they are our neighbors...nor will the government ever be able to do this....winston was right in the book...human spirit would prevail. Man's fear of being alone and need for companionship would prevent such a society of existing. They ask for almost complete solitude of their party members. Also, memories can be forgotten, but remembered again just as easily as they were forgotten.
