Can anyone offer some thesis for "A Hanging"

I was also wondering what Orwell's point in writting this short story was, beside that he just wrote it as a narration.

What are the evidences that you think makes it a narrative and not a descriptive story or vise versa?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
