well i think that was where george orwell got the idea for the hate session for the simple fact that he felt so peer pressured to shoot the elephant that if he didn't conform he would be the laughing stock of the poeople, thats where i think he got the idea for the hate session.
unl;ess shooting an elephant was written after 1984 not sure but anyway........
