I'm trying to effectively nail down the tone of Orwell's SHOOTING AN ELEPHANT. Much more difficult than I imagined it would be... So far I've come up with factual, detached, reminiscent, introspective... I get the sense that its cool and in control with filled with hints of emotions at various points (when he shoots the elephant, when he's facing the "yellow faces" etc). But packing all into a word.. One word.
Someone care to join my insanity and give it a try? ;)
