I think Post-Modernism is a good example, quite necessary when Orwell was around to cut through the propaganda, but now its nothing more than another dogma, which people follow blindly, analysing things in a "post-structuralist" way, and not really seeing what their analysing at all. We're so committed to 'paradigms' and discourses that any truth that might originally have existed is brushed away. And the post-Modern mindset is certainly destructive in terms of action....if you can rip everything apart and not try to create something new out of it then you don't have to TRY anymore. I hope this makes sense.
