Very much so...i just read it ans it completely blew me away. Only a great man like Orwell would have imagined, or at least put his thoughts about his imagination, onto paper. I feel he summed up a lot of how people feel in todays society when there is no 'escape' from the humdrum of materialist life. Even if, as Gordon Comstock tried to do, we attempt to be different and reject the value of money as a necessity to our lives we would ineveitably be swiftly brought down again. A phropecy on Orwell's part I feel.
Pity he isn't still around. I would have loved to have had a pint or two with him
