An idea came to me last night while I was rereading some quotes from the books. I've decided to link off of psychoanalysis and compare Religion with Big Brother. Both are powerful higher forces, authoritative, and (please, no one take this offensely) cause many followers to "throw logic out the window" (quote: JFK)

With this in mind could you perhaps give me your thoughts on this rather,er,touchy paper as it seems? Agnostic here, mind you.
I found what follows to help my point, though as I said it may disturb some. I'm not bashing religion, it's simply an aspect and source of comparison for my paper...
Big Brother & Religion--

It promotes ignorance as the highest truth, and blind obediance to what your church tells you as the highest virtue. It preaches guilt for thought-crime, condemns people for healthy, normal activities, and murders those that hold different beliefs. It cripples the mind, oppresses the soul, and enslaves the body."

(I found this off of an atheist site, I'm still clueless as to who "Than" is, but I'm trying to contact them for more of their thoughts.)

Thoughts?
