Revisionist history encrochment is not only real (a la 1984) but is as insidious, and actually more so than portrayed by Orwell. Newspeak is alive and well, with the right "buzzwords" conveying a whole PC concept while certain words are OC forbidden. Use of certain words have become unlawful, or open the user to civil action. Certain words have become property of groups or religions, taken out of circulation for one specific definition. We now view actions happened decades ago and ajudicate to present standards. if it is not to rewrite history to change a past event from "right" to "wrong", then what is? Granted that words and language are living and evolve with time, we still need to pay attention to what is being taken from our use, and for what reason. we need to view the PC revisionist history movement as a crime against history and literature. Orwell was not only prophetic, but today would be considered very non-PC. For a person who died before the threat of TV was even considered, he foretold the power of the media to not only tell facts for opinion, but to bypass the middleman and just give your correct opinion that you take as your own. few recognize that they are as "brainwashed" as the characters in 1984, but even MORE gullible. Pity.
