My theory (acually my english teacher's) is that we are all proles. We don't know what the government is doing to us, and we don't care. All we care about is ourselves and now. We aren't being watched or vaporized by the government because we aren't a threat to them. We are harmless. If you think about it, do you really know what your government is up to? No one knows except the government itself. And sometimes, do you even care? That is why we are proles. We aren't enough of a threat so the government doesn't even bother with us, they let us get involved in our own little lives and forget about the big things.
