I am writing a paper on the idea of language in relation to freedom and independant thought as found in both 1984 and Fahrenheit 451. I plan to use the idea of doublethink- its implications and its consequenses, as well as Newspeak. For 451, I will use the destruction of books and the consequenses of that. I was wondering if any one has any thoughts on the subject. Personally I was so disturbed once I started pondering in the subject I actually cried. Any thoughts?
