luce's Reading list

'Animal Farm' by George Orwell
Comment It was good when I read up on all the symbolism behind the story. It brought up questions to make you think.
Rating Rating 4
'The Picture of Dorian Gray' by Oscar Wilde
Comment A bit "fluffy" in places. By this I mean poncy type language. However, it made one think about the vanity of people and of whether we were just a shallow society.
Rating Rating 2
'Emma' by Jane Austin
Comment Rather superficial writing. Didn't seem to have an awful lot of depth to it for an Austin novel. Was quite easy reading though.
Rating Rating 1
'Beloved' by Toni Morrison
Comment A three dimensional book - had a lot of depth and symbolism. Very well written, however it was difficult to read and not your average 'bed time' reading.
Rating Rating 3
