Individualist Anarchism is the only system of government that makes sense. No state powers will ever be able to give true liberty and justice. As the man that invokes a revolution must be free of the political society, so must the masses be free before a revolution exists. Permanant change cannot come from violence, only by educating the masses will society be free of the subtle conformity of America.
One of the so called Beat Writers, the book is an auto-biography on his search for the American Dream by bumming from town to town living off odd-jobs and the experience he aquired from his traveling. Easily one of the most influential books in my life.
final entry, though I could list books for days, this book happens to be an auto-biography on drug addiction and the the destitution of society. Great read for beginners of Burroughs, and if you have the stomach for it and are open-minded, give Queer a read.
